As the men’s discipleship groups have been expanding at the Baxter I have been pondering a lot about how to communicate the heart behind discipleship as apposed to training people how to disciple or how to use some of the tools available to help people disciple. Something I think is critical to the success of discipleship (one of many) is ensuring that:
- We inspire people to live great lives
- We inspire people with our own lives
You can just imagine how Jesus inspired His disciples to live for something great. Here is a man that travels by walking on water, takes a packet of groceries from Pick n Pay and feeds 1000’s, when He want to kite surfing just commands the wind to start blowing and it blows and if He does not like the fruit on a tree He simply talks to it and nobody ever sees fruit on it again.
If our lives are boring with nothing interesting going on people are not going to want to follow us. Lets inspire people to great things.
